The Journey

There are spiritual journeys, mental journeys, financial journeys and physical journeys in life.  We all are on one of these journeys at some point in life.

There are so many paths, options and choices to make and take.  With so many options and choices, it is easy to be concerned about making a mistake.  No one wants to get it wrong. But, can you actually get it wrong?  Why does a wrong choice have to be an option in life?  Would a loving Creator stack the deck against us just to see if we are going to make a wrong choice? Would the Creator set us up for failure? Would you as a parent do that to your child? Probably not. Matt 7:9 Says “Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?” Think about it.

There are many paths that lead to the same destination.  Often in my travels I have studied maps to see which route would be the best or shortest or quickest for me to reach my destination.  I always had different options with different routes.  They all would have gotten me there.  I understood, however, that each route would give me a different experience.  It is the same in life.  Different choices bring different experiences, not necessarily good or bad, but different. You might enjoy one route more than another but it does it make the other one wrong.

I once traveled from Virginia Beach to Pittsburgh.  I looked at my map (before GPS) and found what appeared to be a more direct and shorter route.  The beginning of this journey was smooth sailing, record time. I stopped for gas and dinner just before I reached the Appalachian Mountains in West Virginia.  There should have been a warning sign for anyone brave enough to drive through it.  I learned that night that there are no straight roads through the mountains; even it appears that way on the map.  Don’t believe it.  But I got through it because I kept going.

Whatever journey you may be on, whatever you are going through, just know that:

1) all of your paths will get you to your destination.  Just keep going.

2) Each path is a different experience and a different lesson to learn. You cannot get it wrong.

3) As long as you don’t stop, you will reach your destination
